    2. IT'S NOT WORKING !! Even after your corrections ! I have the same /dev/block/vold/179:33 and I did what you've written few times ! OK it's showing that ext was swapped with internal but when i try to install something GUESS WHICH MEMORY IS IN USE ! INTERNAL !!!! So if you want to prove your right show us yt movie when you install some >100mb game/app.

    3. The internal sd card of the phone (call it "IC") has 2 main directories which are mounted as partitions - the reserved memory (call it "R") used only by the phone and internal memory (call it "I") which you the user can access.
      IC=R+I
Then you have your external sd card (call it "E").

When installing an app , the phone will write some important files and config on "R" so "IC" increases.
Most of the stuff however (like data , maps etc) is written on "I", which still increases "IC".
But then "I" can have only a max of 0 - 2GB and the rest is given to "R"

So when you swap "I" for "E" , you are giving "R" an extra 2GB for system config since the whole of "IC" will be used as "R" -> IC=R
The rest of the stuff that should have ben written on "I" is now written on "E" and so you can add many large files up to 32GB (if you have a 32GB "E")
Now do you understand that ?

  5. I had a big problem making it work on my s duos.
The instructions here did not work for me.
    I improved them a little.
    So note:
    1)download a terminal emulater - e.g privile terminal
    run it
    type "su" (without quotes)
type "mount" - this will show you where your external sd card is mounted because /dev/block/vold/179:33 is not true for all phones. Mine was /dev/block/vold/179:32
Do on step 6 (6. Click ext. sdcard device access. (Change to /dev/block/vold/179:33)) you will put what your mount commands gives you. Mine was /dev/block/vold/179:32)
2)after granting root access and pressing settings - make sure you press arrow button where the settings button was.
3)the rest of the instrutions are as described
Do not rush when clicking. The phone may require a little time to aply the changes

    Yours sincerely Patrick

  16. There are 3 shortcut buttons in Samsung Galaxy S with the bottom of the display that remain on show in the least instances. The pull-down notification web page is almost standard-Android, but for some icons to toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and change in between silent and vibrate modes. There's practically nothing wrong with Samsung's front-end in any respect.
